| The 2008 Acura RL sedan has primarily been kept the same as the previous model but Acura have applied a few finer touches to its already popular 2007 addition. The Acura RL may not be as sporty looking as many of the coupes with high-performance but it does produce a competing level of power, it also has the internal space of a sedan. The reliable V6 engine was an interesting choice for the RL as I am sure many would have preferred a more powerful V8. .Acura have released the 2008 RL sedan with two trim levels, the Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) ranges between $46,280 and $53,700. All versions of the 2008 Acura RL have a V6, 3.5 liter engine with 290 brake horsepower producing a smooth and steady ride.
When it comes to fuel consumption the RL does 16 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.
The RL is spacious enough to fit five people in the roomy four door sedan. When it comes to safety Acura have including as many features in the standard package a possible including side and front airbags, traction control and the all important ABS (Antilock Brake Systems). With all these features and more the 2008 Acura RL has outstanding safety ratings.
Acura have not held back when it comes to the Technology Package which is packed with standard features including, engine immobilizer, fog lamps, CD player with the capability of playing MP3''s and the popular satellite radio, auxiliary power outlets, trip computer and navigation unit. Most of these features also have buttons on the steering wheel for ease of control while driving, but to make things even easier Acura have added a hands free communication system.
Both seats at the front of the RL have eight way electrically adjusting movement, both are heated seats and have been clothed in a comfy leather. Acura have tried to make the RL as much of a luxury sedan as possible, the wood trim around the interior of the RL gives it an elegant look, there is an arm rest between the back seats and reading lamps in the front and rear.
Similar vehicles in this range by other manufacturers would be the Audi A6, Jaguar S-Type and the Volvo S80. |
